Government 'still evaluating' minimum alcohol price plan

Home Office minister Jeremy Browne has told MPs the government is still consulting on plans to introduce a minimum unit price for alcohol.

Labour shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said the government policy was "in tatters" with the Home Secretary Theresa May changing her mind on alcohol pricing and unwilling to come to the House of Commons to face questions.

But Jeremy Browne told the Commons that the coalition was listening to "a wide range of views" following consultation, and there were "powerful arguments on both sides".
