Gay marriage divides Conservative Party and voters

The government has been consulting on gay marriage which has angered some on the Conservative backbenches and among the party's grassroots.

Some challenge the idea on moral grounds and some suggest there is more of a strategic point for the prime minister personally.

Giles Dilnot spoke to Dr Sharon James from Coalition4Marriage and ConservativeHome blogger Tim Montgomerie.

The film was followed by a debate with Iain Dale and Nadine Dorries.
