Labour conference: Burnham warns of NHS 'carve up'

Shadow health secretary Andy Burnham has accused the government of carrying out "a forced privatisation (of the NHS) ordered from the top".

"Be warned. Cameron's great NHS carve up is coming to your community", he told delegates at Labour's conference in Manchester.

The role of the private sector in the NHS is a thorny issue and the introduction of sweeping reforms is proving highly controversial with both medics and patients.
