Police Federation's Paul McKeever on Theresa May's plans

The chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales said planned cuts and changes to the service left officers with "'real doubts in our minds that we are going to be able to keep the public safe".

When Paul McKeever was asked what reception Home Secretary Theresa May would get, he praised Michael Howard who used to do the job.

But Lord Howard appeared to back Mrs May, adding "the world has changed" and people will have to accept changes.
