Nick Clegg plays down web surveillance 'scaremongering'

Nick Clegg has played down concerns over plans to monitor the calls, emails, texts and website visits of everyone in the UK.

The deputy prime minister told the BBC there had been "a lot of scaremongering" over the proposals, but that the law would not "sacrifice people's civil liberties".
