English cities want elected mayors, BBC poll finds
Many voters who have a chance to decide if ten English cities should have an elected mayor do not know of the referendums, a BBC poll has found.
But those who are aware of the polls are more likely to vote yes, the survey discovered.
BBC political reporters Susana Mendonca and James Vincent explained what the the figures reveal in the West Midlands and Yorkshire before Tony Travers, a visiting professor at the London School of Economics government department, looked at the England-wide picture.
