MPs leave Westminster early for Christmas holidays

Backbench debates are taking place but the legislation workload has dropped off through December and some MPs have started their foreign Christmas breaks early.

Labour's Thomas Docherty and Conservative Peter Bone explained why the work has been drying up - and argued over who was to blame.

While Labour peer Sally Morgan said there was plenty going on in the House of Lords.
