I did not extend May's border checks scheme, says Clark

Former UK Border Force chief Brodie Clark has told a committee of MPs he did not extend the home secretary's policy on border controls.

Brodie Clark resigned after he was criticised by Home Secretary Theresa May for relaxing immigration controls without authority - a claim he vehemently denies.

When questioned by the Home Affairs Select Committee, he said he was "no rogue officer" and "did not enlarge, extend or redefine the scope (of border check policy) in any way".
