Danny Alexander: Public pensions offer is 'generous'

Union leaders are considering a fresh offer from the government over planned changes to public sector pensions.

Improved proposals have been put forward by ministers in the face of threatened strike action at the end of the month.

Chief Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander told the House of Commons it was a "generous" offer. He added he hoped the offer would leader to ''agreement'' and not to ''damaging'' strike action.
