Francis Maude defends Big Society plans

A charity boss has said deep funding cuts are "destroying" volunteering and undermining the government's "big society" vision.

But Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude defended the government's plans.

He told the BBC: "We've introduced the transition fund which is actually getting money out of the door and into the hands of voluntary organisations just in the forthcoming months."
