PMQs: David Cameron calls for Egyptian democracy

The prime minister has told MPs the transition to democracy in Egypt needs to be "rapid and credible and it needs to start now".

David Cameron said political reform was required in Egypt, and he had spoken to President Mubarak and the Egyptian prime minister.

He was answering a question from Labour leader Ed Miliband in a sombre start to PMQs.

Both said the British people were moved by the images of the Egyptian protests.
