Minister on new government measures to combat gangs

Police in England and Wales are being given new powers to tackle the problem of gang violence without having to go through the criminal courts.

The injunctions nicknamed "Gangbos" can ban someone from going to a rival gang's territory, meeting up with fellow gang members, or wearing gang colours.

Some people including former gang members are sceptical the new measures will work and say the government should go even further.

James Brokenshire, Minister of Crime Prevention defended the new measures.
