First spending cut areas revealed

The government has revealed the first spending cuts suggested by the public that will actually become policy.

The BBC has learnt that unwanted government equipment is to be sold online, National Insurance cards will be replaced by letters and the number of criminal record checks on junior doctors will be cut back. They are all ideas that ministers say will save millions of pounds.
