Two young paddle boarders rescued in Bangor

Two young girls who were paddle boarding in Bangor, County Down, have been rescued by the RNLI after they got in to difficulty.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said the girls had been caught out by an offshore wind which caused them to drift further out to sea from Ballyholme Bay on Saturday.

He said the girls had done the right thing by staying with their boards until they could be rescued.

He also said the team at Bangor lifeboat station had been called out almost every day for a week and warned people to take care as the weather improves and Easter holidays approach.
