ACC offers to apologise to victim's family

The assistant chief constable of the PSNI, Stephen Martin, has offered to meet the family of a Londonderry man to personally apologise over the investigation into his death.

The Police Ombudsman said there were serious failings in the PSNI investigation into the death of Gerard Hampson whose family believe he was murdered.

The ombudsman recommended that 10 officers be disciplined.
