Snow causes problems across Northern Ireland

The first real cold snap of the winter has caused problems on the roads and led to the closure of two schools.

Overnight snow falls and freezing conditions meant people living on higher ground and in more isolated areas were worst hit, particularly in County Tyrone and across the north west.

Road gritters had to be withdrawn from service in Londonderry after they came under attack from stone throwers.

Mervyn Jess reports.
