Sir John Major's tribute to Ireland's Albert Reynolds

The Republic of Ireland's former prime minister Albert Reynolds, a key figure in the Northern Ireland peace process, has died at the age of 81.

He made the Downing Street declaration on Northern Ireland alongside former British Prime Minister John Major in an attempt to secure paramilitary ceasefires, and pave the way for all-party talks.

The announcement was made in December 1993.
