Martin McGuinness: PSNI 'seek Adams extension'

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has said that the PSNI is seeking more time to question Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams.

Mr Adams has been held for questioning at Antrim police station since Wednesday.

Mr McGuinness told a news conference that the arrest of Mr Adams was linked to the forthcoming elections.

He said Sinn Féin had been told this by "very senior members of the PSNI" who had coined the phrase the 'dark side'.
