Plea to trace Tyne-Wear derby helper

Police are appealing to trace a little boy who helped them clear up after the Tyne-Wear derby.

After the final whistle at St James' Park on Sunday a young fan, thought to be about 10, was seen on camera helping officers clear up police tape from outside the stadium after most of the 52,000 fans had left the ground.

Northumbria Police operations commander Ch Supt Steve Neill said: "We'd love for this little boy and his parents or guardians to contact us so we can arrange to say thank you properly for the helping hand he gave our officers on Sunday after the match."
