Crufts: West Highland Terrier wins top prize

A West Highland Terrier has claimed the top prize at Crufts for the first time in 26 years.

Devon was named Best In Show at the annual dog show, an achievement described as "absolutely amazing" by owner Marie Burns of Tow Law, County Durham.

White Westie Devon - whose show name is Burneze Geordie Girl - beat off competition from six other dogs in Sunday's final in Birmingham.

After her win, celebrities Ant and Dec tweeted their congratulations calling the westie "a belter".
