Geordie Shore accused of presenting 'negative image'
An MP has expressed concerns about the impact reality TV series Geordie Shore is having on the image of Newcastle.
The show, which is now screened in a number of countries around the world, has more than a million viewers for each episode.
The BBC's Inside Out team has been investigating the show's impact on the North East and looking it its contribution to tourism and attracting students.
Geordie Shore has also been credited with boosting the sales of cosmetic surgery, with many of its stars undertaking a variety of of different procedures on the show.
But Newcastle Central Labour MP Chi Onwurah says it portrays a "negative image" of the city.
The investigation into the impact of Geordie Shore is on Inside Out on BBC One at 20:30 on Monday 1 February 2016.
