Blyth boy George Pegg in plea to PM over muscle drug

An 11-year-old Northumberland boy with a debilitating muscle wasting disease is travelling to Downing Street to hand in a letter appealing for help to fund a new treatment.

George Pegg, from Blyth, was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy at the age of three.

He has been taking part in trials of the drug Translarna, which has kept him out of a wheelchair.

He has written a letter to Prime Minister David Cameron urging him to allow the use of the drug on the NHS.

Sharuna Sagar reports.
