Man stuck in India 'let down by UK'

An ex-serviceman who is unable to return to his North East home from India, despite charges of illegally possessing weapons being dropped, has said he feels "let down" by his employer and the UK government.

Nick Dunn, from Ashington in Northumberland, was one of six Britons accused by Indian prosecutors of illegally possessing weapons while working on a private US-owned ship providing anti-piracy protection.

The charges were dropped in July but Mr Dunn and his colleagues have not been allowed to leave India.

Police have asked the country's supreme court to consider an appeal which should be heard at the end of October.

Mr Dunn told BBC Newcastle's Adrian Pitches he feels "let down" by his employer AdvanFort and says he has had "no support" from the British Government.
