Cramlington Christmas tree chosen as blackbird's nest

A bird has laid its eggs in an unusual spot in Northumberland - in the town's Christmas tree.

The blackbird's chosen nesting spot has now meant Cramlington Town Council cannot remove the tree until the eggs have hatched.

Councillor Jean Wisson said it was important to "protect them".
