Whitley Bay street garden branded 'safety risk'

A community garden in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, which has won Britain in Bloom awards, has been earmarked for demolition because council bosses believe it is a health and safety risk.

In the last six years, the community garden at Rockliffe Avenue has grown and is now a haven for flowers and all manner of wildlife.

But, as Look North's Jim Knight reports, to the dismay of residents, North Tyneside Council seems adamant that it must all be taken away.
