'Voice of the Boro' Ali Brownlee dies

Ali Brownlee, the BBC Tees presenter and Middlesbrough commentator, who became known as the 'Voice of the Boro', has died three months after being diagnosed with cancer.

Mr Brownlee, 56, commentated on his beloved Middlesbrough FC for more than 30 years as well as hosting the BBC Tees breakfast show.

He died at his home in Middlesbrough on Sunday night surrounded by his family.

Tributes are now pouring in from across Teesside and further afield.
