Redcar beach clean-up after £75m revamp rubbish left behind

A clean-up has been carried out on Redcar beach to remove debris left behind from a £75m regeneration of the town.

The Friends of Redcar group has spent 10 months campaigning for the Environment Agency to clear the area, after a strip of rubble and debris emerged at the back of the beach.

The rubbish, including bricks and buried bags of sand, was from the building of the town's coastal defences in August 2013.
