Christopher Dresser: Middlesbrough's forgotten designer

He was one of the most important designers the UK has ever produced and is credited with inspiring the likes of Paul Smith and Sir Terence Conran.

But few in Middlesbrough - the town where he made his name in the late 19th Century - have ever heard of him.

Now it is hoped an exhibition of Christopher Dresser's work will change all that.
