Killer Paul Withers used false name to make Bexhill 999 call

A man who stabbed his former girlfriend 23 times with a kitchen knife at her flat in Bexhill, East Sussex, tried to cover his tracks immediately afterwards.

Sussex Police said Paul Withers, 22, changed his clothes twice, and called 999 using a false name to report a disturbance at the property.

He was found guilty of murdering Lauren Masters, 20, on 28 August last year following a trial at Hove Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on Tuesday.
