Sussex teenage text abuse victim speaks out
A woman who was sent explicit text messages by a man in his 40s has spoken about the effect the abuse, at the age of 13, had on her.
The woman, who is now 22 and comes from the Crawley area of West Sussex, spoke to the BBC on condition of anonymity, and said she felt disgusted with the texts.
The abusive texts escalated until the woman's mother caught the man sending webcam video of himself naked from the waist down.
Last year Sussex Police received 16 official reports of children being groomed, but the force believes there are many more at risk.
"The problem is becoming more and more well known and so the number of reports is increasing," said Det Chief Insp Jo Banks.
