Stoke City's 1972 cup winners prepare for reunion on 'trophy bus' that carried victors

An old bus that carried a cup-winning football side on its victory tour of town is to ride again - with the passengers from 45 years ago.

People across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are being urged to support the reunion tour of Stoke City's 1972 League Cup winners.

Back then, after their only major trophy win, the team was driven round the area to celebrate with fans.

The bus has been found and restored, although Terry Conroy, who scored Stoke's first goal at Wembley in the match, says the vehicle looked 100 years old in the seventies.
