Two Alton Towers victims present cheque to hospital staff

Two victims of the Alton Towers rollercoaster crash have made a substantial donation to the hospital which treated them today.

Joe Pugh, 19, and Leah Washington, 18, organised a gala which raised £6,900 for the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

They were among 16 people seriously injured in the Smiler ride accident in June 2015.

Leah had a leg amputated above the knee and Joe was left with shattered kneecaps.
