Stafford Hospital: David Cameron backs maternity service
Prime Minister David Cameron has said he wants consultant-led maternity services to continue at scandal-hit Stafford Hospital.
In response to a question from Joan Walley, Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent, Mr Cameron voiced his support for continuing the service despite special administrators recommending a downgrade.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said NHS England would carry out a review into the issue during an announcement in which he agreed to dissolve the trust that runs the hospital.
