Trans woman slams government over prison treatment

A transgender woman from Bath who spent six weeks in jail last year for assault has criticised the government for not knowing how to deal with people in her situation.

Tara Hudson was born male but has lived most of her adult life as a woman.

She was first sent to a men's prison in Bristol but following a national petition was moved to Eastwood Park women's jail in South Gloucestershire.

Tara says she was placed in segregation with the most violent offenders.
