Somerset funeral director 'really sorry' over fraud conviction

"I will live with it for the rest of my life."

The words of Alison Pople, from Cheddar in Somerset - a funeral director who stole £14,000 from bereaved families and charities.

She admitted fraud at Taunton Crown Court where she was handed a 15-month suspended sentence.

Pople kept money from charitable donations made by the friends and relatives of grieving families in what police described as a "blatant abuse of trust".

She apologised for her actions on leaving court.
