Harwell centre to discover new materials opens

A new science centre - boasting two electron microscopes - has opened.

The centre for the study of nanoscale materials at Harwell boasts two electron microscopes, allowing scientists to view materials at an atomic level.

It is hoped the technology could help scientists create undiscovered materials.

Andrew Harrison is chief executive of Diamond Light Source - which is hosting the centre, and Peter Ash is Analytical Manager at Johnson Matthey which is providing one of the microscopes.
