Oxford City Council wants tighter controls to save pubs

Tighter controls have been called for to stop more pubs in Oxford being converted into mini supermarkets or betting shops.

Oxford City Council is one of the first in the country to urge the government to change the law to make it harder for pubs to be sold off to big name chains.

It wants local communities to have a better chance of taking over their pubs.
