Brain damaged man's family loses benefits

A mother of four from Oxfordshire whose husband suffered a severe brain injury playing rugby has had her welfare benefits stopped.

Alex Wood has been in hospital for the past 11 months. He is blind and severely disabled.

Tamsyn Wood has been bringing up her children, aged four, six, seven and eight, alone, completely dependent upon welfare benefits.

A spokesperson for the government said they would look into her case.
