What does a train line closed 50 years ago look like now?

Fifty years since the closure of the Great Central Railway line to London, the BBC has travelled the length of the route through Nottinghamshire.

Sections of the former line now operate heritage railway lines, but much of the route is now wild countryside, housing or - in the case of Nottingham's former railway station - a shopping centre.

Construction of the line, which has been described as the "HS2 of its day", started in 1894.
