Remembrance poppies sown by Nottinghamshire children

Children in Nottinghamshire have been helping to sow 11,000 of poppy seeds, one to honour each of the men from the county who died in World War One.

It was part of a Heritage Lottery-funded project to mark the centenary of the Great War.

Julie Wardle, from Carlton Central Junior School, said it was an attempt to "bring history alive for the pupils".
