Norton Priory reopens after £4.5m redevelopment

Thousands of historical artefacts dating back up to 900 years are on display in Cheshire for the first time.

Norton Priory in Runcorn is Europe's most excavated monastic site and its museum is reopening after a huge redevelopment.

A total of £4.5m has been spent on the Augustinian abbey and museum, and researchers from the universities of Liverpool, Lancaster and Leicester have all been involved.
