Chester Zoo CCTV captures birth of rare black rhino

A rare eastern black rhinoceros has been born at Chester Zoo.

CCTV footage shows the calf landing safely in the enclosure and taking his first steps.

He was delivered by his mother Ema Elsa on Saturday in what zoo staff have described as the "perfect" birth.

Eastern black rhinos are listed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature as "critically endangered" in the wild.
