Sculptor Tom Murphy creates first WW1 Liverpool Pals memorial

A sculptor has almost completed the first memorial to the Liverpool Pals for the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One.

Tom Murphy, from Liverpool, has spent a year creating the two memorial panels which will be unveiled in August.

The sculpture will be placed opposite St George's Hall in Liverpool to remember the five thousand men who joined the Liverpool Pals, and the three thousand men who died.
