Plan for 500 homes on the site of Salford murder pub

A derelict pub where a man was shot dead is to be demolished as part of a new housing development.

Councillors have approved plans for five large housing blocks to be built on a site which includes the Wellington pub on Regent Road, Ordsall, Salford.

The proposals include almost 500 apartments and 37 town houses.

Lee Erdmann, 37, was shot in the pub in September 2011. Nobody has been convicted of his death due to what police have called a "wall of silence".
