Manchester Cathedral: Photographer captures panoramas

Photographer Robert Watson has captured panoramic views of Manchester Cathedral and the surrounding skyline by taking pictures every month for the last five years.

He was originally using the lofty position to capture a time-lapse view of an adjoining building site but said "it just seemed like a good idea to carry on".

Scaling the narrow, steep staircase to the roof of the cathedral, he has captured detailed images of the Grade I-listed building from above.

His photographs will be displayed in the cathedral from 5 March.
