Flood-damaged church documents to be restored

Bibles, parish registers and the legal deeds of a Greater Manchester church are being professionally restored after they were severely damaged in last month's floods.

When the water poured into St Mary's Church in Radcliffe, it threatened to ruin precious documents including marriage and baptism records.

Document SOS, a company specialising in the restoration of damaged paperwork and works of art, has promised to restore them.

Vicar Carol Hayden said it was "great to hear" her church's history could be saved.
