Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon's nine-year old rival

Neil Lennon had to see off competition from some strong candidates to become the manager of Bolton Wanderers.

Little did he realise that among them was a nine-year-old boy, who was so worried by the club's poor form, that he applied for the position.

Despite a strongly worded application letter, Wanderers season ticket holder Thomas Fielding missed out on the top job.

However, he did get a memorable consolation prize as Neil Lennon paid him a surprise visit at his junior football club.
