Armistice Day: Blackburn schoolchildren join forces to create giant poppy

A time lapse video shows 1,000 children in Lancashire gathering to create a giant poppy for Armistice Day.

Pupils from Witton Park Academy in Blackburn made the poppy after researching the lives of local soldiers who fought for their country.

Their names were written on cards at the centre of the giant poppy.

Teacher Laura Elliott said: "We came together as one to pay our respects and that just made me feel so proud."
