Reel History: Seventies Manchester shown in film
Footage of everyday life in 1970s Manchester is going on show in the city to celebrate the launch of a new BBC series.
The archive film focuses on Piccadilly Gardens and the area around it before it was redeveloped in 2001.
It will be shown in Manchester's Albert Square as part of an event launching the BBC programme, Reel History of Britain.
The series, presented by Melvyn Bragg, explores how life in Britain used to be through archive footage.
The short film about Manchester has been provided by the North West Film Archive at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The Reel History Experience takes place on Saturday 28 May.
