Police investigate hate crime against openly gay vicar

Police are investigating a hate crime against an openly gay vicar in West Hampstead after the LGBT and Trans flags that flew above his church were torn down by vandals.

"My initial reaction was surprise. I looked up and the flags were gone," he told BBC London.

"And then I decided that I wasn't going to be intimidated and my first thought was 'we're putting the flags back up"

On Friday the London Fire Brigade helped St James' church replace the flags.
